Public PoC Architecture
This public web server serves as a production-grade Proof of Concept (PoC) demonstrating the feasibility of fully decoupled, self-hosted Business Intelligence (BI) and Artificial Intelligence pipelines. By leveraging an open-source, localized stack, this architecture eliminates third-party API dependencies and data-leakage vectors, embodying the core principles of data sovereignty.
The Technical Stack
- Application Layer (R & Shiny): Serves as the reactive front-end and analytical engine, handling secure state management and rendering dynamic BI dashboards.
- Database Layer (PostgreSQL): A localized relational database optimized for structured data storage, transactional integrity, and efficient querying.
- Inference Layer (Ollama): Orchestrates local execution of open-weight Large Language Models (LLMs) on host hardware. All natural language processing and agentic workflows are contained entirely on-premise, ensuring zero external data egress.
Objective
This environment validates that enterprise-level AI agents and analytical applications can be deployed securely without relying on proprietary, black-box cloud APIs. By keeping the entire data lifecycle—from storage to inference—within a controlled perimeter, we provide a blueprint for compliant, high-performance sovereign intelligence.
Open-Source Commitments
In alignment with our dedication to digital sovereignty, this PoC is developed in proud collaboration with ADESIS (Diffusion dans l'Économie de Solutions d'Intelligence Souveraine), a French non-profit foundation (association loi 1901) dedicated to expanding local BI and AI solutions within the economic fabric.
To foster community-driven transparency and reproducibility, all components conform strictly to open-source paradigms:
- Codebase Transparency: PoC software components and orchestration scripts are licensed under the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL) and it is published on ADISIS CE GitLab.
- Open Data Assets:Benchmark datasets, prompts, and analytical models used in this environment are distributed under Creative Commons (CC) licenses.
- Public Repository: In partnership with the foundation, the entire version-controlled stack is publicly audited and mirrored on the ADESIS community Gitlab server at gitlab.adsis.fr.

Features, endpoints, and hosted applications may be modified, throttled, or deprecated at any time without prior notice.

While all source code shared via gitlab.adsis.fr is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL) and associated datasets under Creative Commons (CC) licenses, users deploy, modify, or fork this stack entirely at their own risk.
Neither AIEDGE4U nor ADESIS shall be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use, misuse, or deployment of this open-source code in external environments.
Users are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act) when deploying these architectures on their own infrastructure.
